Role: Manager / Deputy Manager – Costing & Management Accounting
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Head – Finance / Plant Controller
1. Job Purpose:- To ensure effective product costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, and financial reporting while supporting operations with actionable insights for decision-making, cost optimization, and business growth.
2. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables Product & Standard Costing
Expert in product costing and standard costing system.
Perform model cost roll-up, cost variance analysis, and reconciliation.
Material & Inventory Management
Reconciliation of material consumption vs. production.
Perform monthly inventory calculations, analysis, and MIS reporting for all stakeholders.
Ensure accurate inventory valuation for monthly closing as per accounting norms.
Operational & Business Support
Conduct machine hour rate and labor hour rate working.
Provide material accounting insights and business solutions to the Operations team.
Support make-or-buy decisions, new project appraisals, and benchmarking studies.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Ensure timely monthly closing of books and highlight exceptional items in materials, expenses, dispatches, and sales.
Prepare and circulate MIS reports to leadership (Profit & Loss, Financial Ratios, Variance Analysis).
Perform balance sheet analysis covering debtors, CWIP, and other key accounts.
3. Functional Competencies Strong expertise in Product Costing, Standard Costing & Variance Analysis.
Knowledge of Material Accounting & Inventory Valuation.
Proficiency in SAP (FI/CO/MM modules), MS Excel & Financial Modeling.
Experience in MIS, Financial Reporting & Decision Support.
4. Behavioral Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under strict timelines and monthly closing schedules.
Effective communication and stakeholder management.
5. Education & Experience Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (ICWA) / MBA Finance.
Experience: 5–8 years of experience in costing, financial analysis, and material accounting, preferably in manufacturing / automotive / engineering industries.
