Job Title: Senior Manager – Mechanical (HSM Division)
Department: Mechanical Maintenance – HSM
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager – Mechanical to lead spare parts planning, maintenance planning, and mechanical systems operations within the Hot Strip Mill (HSM) division. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise in mechanical equipment maintenance, hydronic systems, and gas media utilities to ensure operational excellence, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Spare Planning: Develop and implement strategies to ensure timely availability of critical spare parts, minimizing downtime and optimizing inventory levels.
Maintenance Planning: Design and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for HSM equipment.
Mechanical Equipment Maintenance: Lead maintenance and troubleshooting of rolling mills, conveyors, cranes, hydraulic systems, and other critical mechanical assets.
Hydronic Systems Management: Maintain pumps, valves, pipelines, and cooling towers, ensuring efficiency, corrosion prevention, and energy optimization.
Gas Media Utility: Supervise the operation and maintenance of compressed air, natural gas, and other industrial gases in compliance with safety and operational standards.
Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage budgets for spares, maintenance, and capital projects while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
Safety & Compliance: Drive adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards, fostering a safety-first culture.
Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and motivate engineers, technicians, and maintenance teams to achieve high performance.
Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices, innovation, and process improvements to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and KPIs to support decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
12+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance and operations within steel manufacturing, with specific expertise in Hot Strip Mill (HSM) equipment.
Proven track record in spare planning, maintenance planning, and mechanical systems management.
Strong technical knowledge of hydronic and gas media utilities.
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and reliability improvement for mechanical systems.
Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and vendor management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Sound understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and quality standards in steel manufacturing.
